The sporadic days of 70 degree weather in January and February taunt us as outdoor venues douse their fire pits and remove the heat lamps from the patios. The flowers and trees begin to bud and throughout the Lowcountry, people begin to find reasons to be outside, celebrate and eat, drink and be merry. How epicurean! 04Third time's the charm, right? If so, then I hope that everyone brings their umbrellas to the Kickoff Party for our February issue. Under yet another deluge at Bambu, staff and friends celebrated the completion of the Eat This! October issue. I am elated to say that the reviews of our second issue have been anything but sodden!

It’s hard to believe that only a few months ago, I was navigating what seemed to be impossible hurdles to publish the first issue of EAT THIS! Now I am holding our second edition in hand, and what immediately strikes me is how the magazine has evolved from issue one to issue two.

If someone had told me ten years ago that I would be putting together a food and beverage magazine, I would have laughed and then asked
them to pass me the ketchup for my meat and potatoes. Yes, I was that guy. Cheeseburgers and Chicken Fingers were my staple entrée order. Maybe some salt or pepper but no fancy sauce. I never wanted to think about my food, I just wanted to eat it.
